Read Before You Click

crowley-morons
I know this may seem a bit extreme, but this picture is very close to the aggravation I have been feeling for the past couple of weeks.
Social Agitation or a Say It With Your Chest Moment?
I guess a little bit of both.
I’m not saying this doesn’t happen on a regular basis, but I think it is happening a bit too often.
For the past couple of weeks, I've gotten a saturation of this type of behavior. Some of it I've tried to ignore, but when it happens more frequently, particularly if it’s the same person or group of people doing it, it’s almost as if it calls to be addressed.
Out of all the improvements Facebook has implemented, you would think they would have something beyond a “Like” button. Because some things go beyond a like. For example:
lovefacebook
That deserves a “Love” even an “Aww…that’s beautiful” button. Like doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface on that type of status.
Then there is a status like this….
wthfacebook
This deserves a different button, like “That’s Ratchet” or “#*%$” , but not “like”. Like just doesn't quite get the job done.
But this isn't really what this post is about.
It’s more about people being appropriate with what they are liking.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been sick on and off.
At the day job, my boss had a nasty hit of the flu, and not too long after he got back, I got some of the same symptoms which caused me to lose a couple of days from there.
Then, just as I’m recovering from those symptoms, I get sick from someone at the other job, who had been fighting a stomach virus, which caused me to lose time at my second job.
I had a status up, basically stating that I had gotten sick from both jobs, and to my surprise, 3 people liked the status.

How are you liking a status saying someone’s sick?
It’d be different if I was stating the ways I was nursing myself back to health. But I said none of that. How are you going to high five flu symptoms and getting hit with diarrhea and vomiting?
Needless to say, that disturbed me.
I would have overlooked it if the people commented, “Aww…feel better” or something like that, but they didn't even say that. It just made me really shake my head. It also makes me feel either people are really that insensitive or they aren't reading.
I’m just saying this to simply state:
Can you pay attention to what you are reading? Some things have no business getting a “like.”
If you don’t know whether to like it, then don’t hit the button. In fact, comment rather than hit whether you like something or not.
And if you don’t know what to say, then my preference is that you don’t say anything. That would annoy me less.
Short version:  Read before you click.
Peace.
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has been checking up on me. Like my grandmother would say, “I’m kicking but not high.” Since I've been hit with a double whammy, my immune system is pretty shot. My appetite is still pretty nonexistent. My energy has been pretty low, so low that I haven’t felt up to working out. But I’m doing my best to get back into routine.
