Musical Truths, Day One: My Introduction

1.  Which song would serve as your introduction?  (to the world, blog reader, friends, this challenge)

I have always loved Christina Aguilera.  She has such a powerful voice with so much range.  She presents so many aspects of her personality through her music.  I know that her debut album put her on the map, but for me, it was Stripped that I could identify with most of all, especially the words in her intro:

Stripped (Intro)
Waited a long time for this
Feels right now
Uh, uh, ha, ha
Allow me to introduce myself
Want you to come a little closer
I'd like you to get to know me a little bit better
Meet the real me

Sorry you can't define me, sorry I break the mold
Sorry that I speak my mind, sorry don't do what I'm told
Sorry if I don't fake it, sorry I come so real
I will never hide what I really feel
No way, oh

So here it is
No hype, no gloss, no pretense
Just me

Stripped

I spent so much time in my early years trying to mold myself into what Society would accept.  The harder I tried, the more I failed.  It took a lot of pain to realize that what Society wanted me to be just wasn't realistic. I came to dislike when anyone tried to put me into a category; I feel that by categorizing myself, I was setting limits...arresting my own development.  It was only when I denounced the shackles others tried to put on me that I really started coming into my own and embracing it all...the eccentrics, the emotions, all of the facets that compose me.

Whenever I write, I present myself as stripped.  No pretense.  No hype.

Those of you who talk to me know that I come across as very down to earth, helpful, giving; I will give advice when needed but you have to be prepare at how I come at you.  You may not like the delivery or the advice but if you ask, I'm going to keep it real with you.

And as far as the haters, the betrayers...well Karma coming at them ten fold so I'm not going to waste my breath on what occurs when I'm crossed.

But all of these make me who I am.

Christina, take it home.
