Word 22: Afraid
I am hopeful yet afraid of the direction self-publishing is taking. On one hand, I am glad so many people have the opportunity to achieve their dreams of publishing without it costing lots of money. Yet, there are people in self-publishing that may do the craft more harm than good. Some people already perceive self-published and Indie authors in a negative light, yet those who are so caught up in the excitement of putting out their products without taking the time to proofread their works, give the naysayers credence to their views.

Agreed...SP authors can be the "laughing stock" of the publishing industry...one of my main reasons for hesitating.
