The greatest
gift one can give me is a book. I will always perceive a book as a treasure,
since I didn’t really have them growing up.
I learned to read from my grandmother’s newspapers she would have
delivered to the house. When I was old
enough, I would hang out at the library or at Goodwill and spend my spare money
on books. To this day, somewhere under
my bed, is my secret stash of Harlequin and Silhouette books, yellowed with age
and frequency of use.
